Learning lessons the hard way!

One of my (now former) students was arrested last week. The student had a couple of weapons in her purse. The response was "I didn't realize they were there."

2 felony charges later.... said student will spend two years in an alternate environment, if she doens't end up in jail.

I could almost buy her excuse of not realizing the switchblades were there...except that she had already been kicked out for fighting. And had quite the temper.

Such a shame that some teenagers cannot be convinced that violence is not the solution, that it only adds more problems.
