Stimulus Bill or Monster Jack?

Woohoo! It's raining here, and don't we need it. I'll tell you what. I love Southern-isms.

And what about the stimulus bill? Shit. We're so screwed. My MIL, who is much more informed about politics then I am, says we've never been in this situation before and we cannot predict what will happen. It might turn out right, it might turn out wrong. But the last time we had a recession the govt did nothing for the first couple of years and millions of people roamed the streets and starved. I'd just like to know where all this money is coming from. Or going to come from. And at what point are we going to take care of the debt we have before adding more to it. Seems to me the govt can't tell American Joe to curb his debt when they keep creating a monster that we'll never get rid of...

Update:
My MIL said during the Depression, not Recession. My bad. This is what happens when my brains and my fingers work at different speeds. I certaintly don't want to give the impression that my MIL is a barking Moonbat like we find at Velociman's and Denny's site. She is a really smart lady..

We have been in this situation before. it was called The late seventies and early eighties. What the diference ios now is we have a peeresident that is a facist now. Back then we had a conservative. Obama thinks we can spend our way out of this debacle and Reagan cut taxes. All this is going to do is delay the inevitable. Watch..Hussein will be looking at another stimulus near summer time because after all FDR did not spend enough soon enough to end the Great Depression. Problem is, is that all that record spending back then (and we were on the gold standard then) did not fix the problem, and it won't fix it today. As for where is the money going to come from, we are going to print it, which is going to lead to inflation and $10 dollar loaves of bread. Ain't facism grand. SHIT!

The last time we had a recession milions of people roamed the streets and starved? Hell, Holder, that didn't even happen during the Great Depression. Sounds like it'd make a pretty good zombie movie, though. But your MIL is right. We've never tried this hard to buy our way out of a downturn. It will prove to be a huge mistake.
